Continuous preparation is the foundation of mission success. Our team trains year-round in diverse environments and challenging conditions to ensure readiness for real world deployments.

Training includes land navigation, search tactics, communications, technical rescue skills, and the use of tools such as GPS mapping, CalTopo, and radio coordination systems. Additional training opportunities are continuously added to our calendar throughout the year.

Search and Rescue work is both physically and emotionally demanding. We prioritize member wellbeing through resilience training, psychological first aid, peer support, and mental health awareness programs designed to help responders manage the unique stresses of crisis response.

The skills developed through MOCSAR training extend beyond missions, building leadership, teamwork, and resilience that carry into everyday life and careers.

MOCSAR regularly participates in community events throughout Montgomery County to promote safety awareness, outdoor preparedness, and public education.

These engagements often involve collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, youth organizations such as Scouts and American Heritage Girls programs, and other community partners.

Community events provide an opportunity for the public to meet our volunteers, learn about search and rescue operations, and discover ways to support or become involved with our mission.

Fundraising events help support the ongoing operations, training, and equipment needs of Montgomery County Search and Rescue.

As a nonprofit organization, we rely on community support to maintain readiness and continue providing professional volunteer search and rescue services. Many of our fundraising events take place at local restaurants and businesses where they donate a portion of their proceeds to our organization.

Additional fundraising opportunities are added to our calendar throughout the year as they are finalized.
